Graduation and Momma's Day

I attended the graduation of my cousin Jordie from Diller-Odell High May 11th.  She will go onto University of Nebraska in Lincoln to pursue a major in English Education.  Congrats Jordie Nicole.
Jordie and her 3 older sisters.  No one will find a group of sisters closer than these four.  It's amazing how much they love and respect each other...its a rare gift.  They also have a 10 year old brother, Korey that they love and adore too.
I spent the first part of my Mother's day with my mom and grandma at church and then headed home to see my boys.

Three generations of mommas.  I am the person/mother I am today because of these two ladies.  Thanks Mom and Grandma for all you have done for me and our family.
The boys showered me with gifts when I returned home today....a new pot for flowers, bird seed for my feeders, licorice (my fav snack) and they filled all my empty pots with dirt so they are all ready for me to plant flowers in them this week....I hope.

I didn't get our annual Mother's day picture taken when I got home but followed up with one the following weekend.  It's fun to compare them year after year.

Play Ball... and ....Lions, Tigers and Kindergartners Oh My!!

This week has been a busy one but with this crazy weather you gotta enjoy the outside activities when you can.  Brett finally got to play his first game of the year (last week was rained out).  He started the year off pitching and did a great job for his 3 innings.  He also started the year off with a hit (or I should clarify...he made contact but was thrown out, however we are excited that contact was made as batting is sometimes a struggle).
 2nd Base, Brett Albright #19

Yesterday was Blake's class field trip to the Sedgwick County Zoo.  It was suppose to be last week but again the weather decided it needed to snow the last week of April so Martin Elementary along with about 8 other grade schools in the area all decided to all go to the zoo. This was my group along with another mom to travel through the zoo with.  It was a beautiful day despite the annoying KS wind.
This was Blake and Cameron with an hour and half left to go before it was time to leave.  They had seen all they could see and were ready just to sit or lay down I guess.
I had a bag of cheezits in my bag leftover from lunch and they seemed to perk up while sharing those.  It was so fun to watch them chatting away and eating a snack.
Most of the animals were quite active probably due to the weather being so nice (not so hot that all they do is lay around) and the gorillas were up and moving around.  This one came right up to the glass and watched us watch him...however I do think he was sending us a message...check out his hands??!!  Me and the other moms got a good laugh as he just sat there for a long time like that.
My favorite spot of the zoo are the chimps and orangutans.  This is Kanali and he was very entertaining and so stinkin cute.  If there was a little kid or baby that came up to the glass he would stop what he was doing and get real close to the glass to watch them watching him.
This is Blake after 5 hours at the zoo in the wind and heat.  After a 2 hour nap he was ready to go again.
The upcoming weeks I suspect will be busy with school ending, summer sports in full swing and hopefully the weather adjusting to actual spring/summer temps.  Very much looking forward to spending time outside.
